Welcome to the AI Industry Report, daily AI news for small business, built by AI, about AI, from the Agentic Marketing Academy. It’s Wednesday, September 16th. Three stories, one rumor, and Meta now sells business plans inside Instagram and Facebook, where a link in your posts starts at fifty dollars a month. Let’s go.

Here’s the one that’s going to show up in your Instagram settings. Meta launched Meta One yesterday. It’s a subscription that runs across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI, and for the first time there’s a full ladder of business plans. Meta says the core apps stay free, and that’s fair. Here’s what sits behind the paywall. Essential, starting at fifteen dollars a month: the verified badge, a verified WhatsApp Business channel, impersonation protection, and more replies from Meta Business Agent, the AI that answers your customers. Advanced, starting at fifty: schedule Stories thirty days out, put links in your regular posts and reels, export your analytics, and give your team access without handing over your password. Expert is 149. Max is 499. Sit with that middle tier a second. Links in organic posts. The thing Instagram never let you do. Now it’s fifty dollars. Why does an AI show care? Because the Business Agent, the thing that talks to your customers at two in the morning, is now metered by plan, and we’ve spent the whole summer watching Meta move it from free to billed. Meta says pricing and features vary by region and by account, so what you see may differ. Source: Meta’s own newsroom announcement, September 15th.

Now, remember the deadline we flagged back in July? Cloudflare said that on September 15th it would start blocking AI crawlers that do double duty, the ones that crawl for search and for training both, and that if you blocked training you might lose Google along with it. Well, the fifteenth came, and Cloudflare changed the plan. There’s a new setting called Disallow AI Training. Pick it, and Google, Apple and Bing keep crawling you for search, while the training-only bots from OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta and Amazon get blocked. Cloudflare says Google and Apple honor it today and Microsoft has committed to early next year. It’s on every plan, including free. Here’s the part that matters if somebody set this up for you in July and moved on. If you had Block AI Bots switched on, Cloudflare says it’s moving you to the new setting automatically, so your search visibility survives. But the plain Block option now means exactly what it says. It stops Googlebot too. Choose Block today and you can fall out of Google search. One more thing. This does not control whether you appear in AI Overviews. That’s a separate switch, inside Search Console. Source: Cloudflare’s own blog, September 15th, via Search Engine Journal.

Quick one, about a number we told you to go look at. Two weeks ago Google gave every site an AI performance report inside Search Console. Now Google’s John Mueller, answering on Reddit, agreed with a poster who spelled out what those numbers really mean. An impression counts whenever your link was inside an AI Overview that loaded, whether or not anybody scrolled down far enough to see it. Links tucked behind Show more don’t count until someone expands them. And the position column is the position of the whole AI box on the page, not where your link sat inside it. Mueller said position is hard to do in a way that’s useful, and asked people what would help. So what changes for you? Read that report as I was in the answer, not people saw me. Judge yourself on clicks and calls. Source: John Mueller on Reddit, reported September 13th by Search Engine Journal.

One rumor before we go, and it’s about yesterday’s lead. A developer who goes by pdfu found code in iOS 27 and the new Mac beta showing that Siri AI is built so Claude or ChatGPT can stand in for it, right there in Siri’s Ask menu, with Siri still handling anything that touches your phone. Not public. Not announced. Apple hasn’t said a word about it, and AppleInsider reported it on the 14th. If it ships, the assistant that names the best plumber in town could be Siri on one phone and ChatGPT on the next. Costs you nothing to prepare: run your best-near-me question through ChatGPT and Claude this week, not just Siri.

So here’s your one thing for today. Open Instagram, find Meta One in your professional settings, and read what your account is being offered and at what price. Decide on purpose, not by accident, whether a fifty-dollar link is worth it to you.
